Buenos Aires Airport Departures

Every flight out of Ezeiza (EZE) now leaves from a single building, the Departures Terminal, and the golden rule is simple: arrive 3 hours before an international flight and about 2 before a domestic one. The board below shows live departures; the sections under it cover which terminal to use, how check-in and security work, how to reach the airport in time, and what is waiting for you once you are airside. As of 2026 the picture is stable, with one dated runway exception noted at the end.

Where can I check live EZE departures?

Confirm your flight's status, gate and any delay on the live board below, which updates in real time. If your flight is not listed it may be too far ahead of departure; for the earliest and latest slots your airline's app is the most reliable source, and it is also where gate changes appear first.

Which terminal do departures use at EZE?

All of them use the same one. Since 14 April 2023, every departure from Ezeiza, domestic or international, leaves from the new Departures Terminal built on the site of the former Terminal B. You do not need to work out an airline-to-terminal mapping the way you once did: whatever your carrier or destination, you check in, clear security and board here. How early should I arrive?

Give yourself three hours for an international departure and about two for a domestic one. Because a single consolidated terminal now funnels every outbound passenger through the same bank of security lanes, queues build fast at peak times, and international flights add passport control on the way out. If you are checking a bag, note your airline's cut-off, which is typically 60 minutes before an international departure, and do not cut it fine during the December summer peak when Ezeiza is at its busiest.

How do check-in and security work?

The flow is the usual one: check in or drop your bag at your airline's row, pass through the central security screening, and for international flights continue through passport control before reaching the boarding gates. Have your boarding pass and passport ready, and keep liquids and electronics accessible for the scanners. Once you are through, the gates, shops and lounges are all on the airside level. Give yourself time to reach the gate, as the Departures Terminal is large and your gate may be a walk from security.

How do I get to Ezeiza in time?

Work back from your check-in time and add a buffer for traffic. The four common ways in mirror the ways out; prices are approximate for central districts and shift with the peso.

What is airside at EZE departures?

Once through security you will find duty-free, a range of cafes and restaurants, currency exchange, pharmacies and free Wi-Fi, plus paid lounges if you want to wait in comfort. What are the security rules at Ezeiza?

Standard international rules apply at the screening point. Carry-on liquids, gels and pastes must be in containers of 100 ml or less, packed together in a single transparent resealable bag, and taken out of your hand luggage along with laptops and larger electronics. Sharp objects, most tools and anything flammable belong in checked baggage rather than the cabin. Duty-free liquids you buy airside are fine to carry on board. If you are connecting through another country on the way home, check that country's rules as well, because a bottle bought at Ezeiza can be challenged at a transfer point if it is not in a sealed tamper-evident bag with the receipt attached.

What if I have a long wait before my flight?

Once you pass security you are committed to the airside area, so if you have hours to fill it is worth weighing a paid lounge against the cafes and seating. For an overnight wait or a very early departure, most travellers find it more comfortable to sleep at a hotel near the airport and return, since the terminals have no dedicated rest zones; our hotels near EZE guide lists the closest options with free shuttles. Spend any leftover pesos on food or gifts before you board, and do not leave the secure area after clearing an international departure, or you will have to pass through security and passport control a second time.

Any disruptions to plan for?

One dated item matters for late 2026. From 25 October to 11 November 2026 the main runway is shortened for rehabilitation, which suspends or reroutes a handful of specific long-haul departures while the airport otherwise runs normally.
